Ludzie z chorobami psychicznymi są jedną z najbardziej napiętnowanych grup w naszym społeczeństwie, zwłaszcza ci z diagnozą schizofrenii. Z Terapii Zajęciowej ważne jest, aby działać na rzecz tworzenia społeczności integracyjnych, pracy w celu wyeliminowania uprzedzeń i piętna, które wpływa na socjalizację, integracji i dobrobytu osób z zaburzeniami psychicznymi, zachęcając ich do rozwijania projektu życia zgodnie z ich sensownych zawodów.
