Le but de cet ouvrage est de décrire la structure de l’économie congolaise, de démontrer l’inefficacité de politiques économiques et de développement mises en œuvre en RDC, et de mettre en évidence les causes y relatives. Conformément à l’analyse effectuée, la RDC navigue dans le bain de la concurrence internationale de plus en plus sauvage, avec une économie dont la structure laisse à désirer. L’évaluation de quelques politiques économiques conjoncturelles, et structurelles mises en œuvre en RDC a montré qu’elles ont été tout simplement inefficaces. Cependant, moins d’efforts ont été conjugués pour éradiquer les goulots d’étranglement ayant conduit à ce nivellement dans le pays. Deux grandes racines de l’inefficacité de politiques de développement ont été mises en évidence à savoir : la continuation de la logique néolibérale et l’environnement macroéconomique archaïque couplé d’un système socioculturel nocif.
