Este libro se realizó con el objetivo de dar a conocer tres proyectos de investigación aplicada, desarrollados entre los años 2006 y 2017 sobre la Región del Gran La Plata (Partidos de La Plata, Berisso y Ensenada y Consorcio Puerto La Plata) de la Provincia de Buenos Aires, Argentina. Fueron realizados por un equipo de investigadores, becarios y colaboradores del Centro de Investigaciones Urbanas y Territoriales de la Facultad de Arquitectura y Urbanismo de la Universidad Nacional de La Plata entre dichos años.Cada proyecto aborda la Región, a partir de diferentes teorías y conceptualizaciones. El primero reconoce las políticas territoriales aplicadas entre 1992 y 2007 observadas como paisajes culturales; el segundo reconoce y profundiza las diferentes escalas del paisaje para su análisis e intervención; el tercero y último reconoce la Región como territorio vulnerable, evalúa los diferentes grados de riesgo de inundación, y reflexiona sobre las posibles medidas de adaptación y mitigación.Por este motivo ofrece al lector un recorrido que no requiere ser lineal, sino que permite el abordaje por partes, o bien desde cada uno de los capítulos, en donde se desarrollan contenidos y productos generados en cada uno de los proyectos.
