O objectivo deste livro é fornecer-lhes um guia simples que permita a um não jurista compreender as etapas e formalidades a cumprir em todas as fases: criação de activos, aquisição de títulos que estabeleçam a propriedade sobre os activos, a sua exploração, comercialização e defesa. Este guia permitirá ao leitor compreender as especificidades dos vários activos de propriedade intelectual e as possíveis explorações. As PME operam num ambiente sobre o qual não têm um controlo total. Por conseguinte, certas acções são da responsabilidade dos governos, que devem desempenhar o seu papel. O livro apresenta vias que os governos podem explorar ou explorar para criar um ambiente em que os proprietários de activos de propriedade intelectual possam fazer valer os seus direitos.
