She just wanted to meet a movie star... Kitty Kole, nicknamed Pity, is a music teacher and divorced mother of two teenage girls. The busy, impulsive gal loves movies; In fact, she’s a movie fanatic. In the week preceding her annual Oscar Party, Pity is chosen to be a stand-in for the leading actress in a new movie being filmed in Tulsa. She is ecstatic about her luck, but things turn tragic when her fellow stand-in is killed in what appears to be a freak accident involving a replica of Tulsa’s iconic Golden Driller statue. Pity believes it was a murder and vows to find the killer.    In addition to causing several silly mishaps on the film set, Pity is faced with an unwanted admirer, a horrible school principal and her ex-husband’s annoying girlfriend. Things do improve greatly when she accidentally falls into the arms of one of the most famous actors in America. Luckily, Pity has the support of family and friends, but can the unconventional sleuth survive her own investigative antics?
