Der Westliche Antiatlas beherbergt zahlreiche Kupfervorkommen. Die meisten dieser Kupfervorkommen sind in die Grundformationen der infrakambriösen Decke der Tata Taroudant-Gruppe eingebettet. Die Lagerstätte Tazalaght ist ein Beispiel für eine Mineralisierung, die sowohl von der proterozoischen Basis als auch von der infrakambrianischen Decke (Basisserie und Tamjout-Dolomiten) getragen wird. Es zeigt eine verstreute und aderartige Mineralisierung.Anhand der Feldbeobachtungen, der Petrographie und der mineralogischen Untersuchung der Proben aus den Bohrungen TAZ100, TAZ101 und TAZ102 im Norden der Lagerstätte Tazalaght zeigen die Ergebnisse aus lithostratigraphischer Sicht einen proterozoischen Sockel, der von einer infrakambrianischen Decke überlagert wird, die zur Gruppe von Tata-Taroudant gehört. Insgesamt beginnt diese mit einer detritischen Serie, die als 'Basisserie' bezeichnet wird und von Karbonatformationen, dem Tamjout-Dolomit, dem dolomitischen Sandstein und der Mergel-Kalkstein-Serie (unterer Kalkstein) überlagert wird.
