As células de Purkinje distinguem-se pela sua árvore dendrítica, recebem 200 000 sinapses, a informação de 200 milhões de entradas de fibras musgosas é depois expandida para 40 mil milhões de células granulares, cujas saídas de fibras paralelas convergem depois para 15 milhões de células de Purkinje.
