Xorazm vohasi Amudaryo suvlari va quyosh nurlaridan paydo bo’lgan muqaddas diyor sanaladi. Shuning uchun ham muarixlar uni 'xvarasmiya' (suv va quyosh o’lkasi) deb ataganlar. Ibtidoiy davrda ota- bobolarimiz otashparaslar edilar, ular quyosh, o’t, olovga sig’inganlar. Yer yuzasining yetti mo’jizasi bo’lgani kabi Xorazmning ham betakror osori antiqalari bor. Xorazm nomi turli xalqlar tilida turlicha talafuz qilingan. Arablar - 'xvarezm' , forislar - 'uvarazmis', 'xvayruzm', mesapatamliklar - 'xvarizma', yunonlar - 'charosima', Avestoda esa 'hvairizm' kabi nomlar bilan atalgan. Qadimda Xorazm tangalari 'xvarazm' shaklida talaffuz qilingan. O’zbek davlatchiligining tamal toshlari bundan 2700-yil muqaddam aynan Xorazm vohasida qo’yilgan. Shu bilan bir ma’noda milliy davlatchiligimiz tarixiy Mist, Xitoy, Hindiston, Yunoniston, Eron kabi eng qadimiy davlatlar tarixiy bilan bir qatorda turadi. Xorazmni tarixiy va navqiron shaharlaridan biri xiva shahridir, xiva o’zining ko’k gumbaz-u baland imoratlari bilan ma’lum va mashhurdir. Ozod o’lkam - obod o’lkam, qarang, bugun. Xorazm naqadar ko’rkamlashgan.Xorazm diyorida yashasang bo’larsan bekam.Xiva shahrin ko’rsang aslo qolmas yurakda g’am.
