Ravi Sankar
Arun Joshi jest najważniejszym powieściopisarzem w indyjskiej literaturze angielskiej. Uczęszczał do szkół w Indiach i Stanach Zjednoczonych Ameryki. Bezinteresownie zajmował się wewnętrznym kryzysem jednostki i koncentrował się na problemach jaźni, takich jak alienacja, dystans i dylemat egzystencjalny. Mimo że ma swoje osiągnięcia w dziedzinie nauki i przemysłu, jest bardzo zainteresowany poznawaniem i pisaniem o wewnętrznym kryzysie jednostki. W 1957 roku przez krótki okres czasu przebywał w Szpitalu Psychiatrycznym w Stanach Zjednoczonych, gdzie jego wujek był psychiatrą. Otrzymał możliwość studiowania ludzkich zachowań. Wtedy jego wrażliwy umysł był pod tak dużym wrażeniem, że chciał, aby jego główni bohaterowie opisali wewnętrzne życie w wewnętrznym świecie duszy podzielonej przeciwko sobie, jej aspiracje i sprzeczne popędy zwróciły się ku woli i działaniu. Dlatego też w jego sercu jest coś głębszego niż empatia dla takich bohaterów.
