A pandemia de Covid-19 provocou uma grande crise, paralisando actividades em vários domínios em todo o mundo. O objetivo deste estudo foi compreender a recusa da população de Kinshasa em ser vacinada contra a pandemia de Covid-19 e propor uma estratégia de gestão capaz de obter a aceitação da vacina com vista a erradicar esta pandemia viral. O objetivo geral declarado foi o de contribuir para a luta contra a COVID 19 com vista a pôr fim à pandemia. Na tentativa de compreender o comportamento geral das pessoas que se recusam a ser vacinadas, a principal questão de investigação centrou-se nos factores que explicam a recusa da população da cidade provincial de Kinshasa em tomar a vacina contra a COVID-19. Com base nesta questão, as hipóteses avançadas foram as seguintes: a ausência de gestão estratégica e operacional não favorece a implementação de actividades de prevenção; a resistência da população à vacinação está diretamente relacionada com a ocorrência de MAPI; a marginalização dos líderes comunitários a vários níveis acentuou a recusa da população em ser vacinada; e as redes sociais tiveram um impacto importante.
