A atratividade é um elemento importante para o desenvolvimento de uma região, porque contribui para a colocar na vanguarda da cena competitiva e faz dela um produto que precisa de ser vendido para se desenvolver. De facto, é visto como um imperativo para todos os países. Isto é facilitado, em particular, pela adoção de uma estratégia de marketing territorial que permite à região destacar os seus trunfos e promover o desenvolvimento através de acções de marketing territorial. Acreditamos, portanto, que existe uma relação entre a prática do marketing territorial e o desenvolvimento regional. Ao longo deste trabalho, tentaremos demonstrar esta relação centrando-nos no contributo do sector do turismo.
