Любовь, обида и мучительная интимность, в которой витают тени и свет, ставят поэтов Данте Алигьери, Карлоса Драммонда де Андраде и Эудженио Монтале у одного порога, то есть как будто в какой-то момент они оказались в одном месте, под одним и тем же дверным проемом. Цель этой книги - представить литературный анализ, который ищет тень дантовской меланхолической поэзии в некоторых стихах Драммонда и Монтале. Для этого сначала необходимо составить краткую литературную историю и исторический обзор библиографии этих поэтов, исследовать общие моменты в построении этих произведений, а затем наметить и установить связь между этими произведениями через конкретную линию - меланхолию, тему, которая будет определяться на протяжении всего текста.
