Never seen a finer day is more than a saying. It’s an attitude. It’s a mindset. It’s a mindset that we all should wake up with each morning. There are days we don’t feel it; there are bad weather days, lack of sleep mornings, and just days we don’t feel like doing life in general. But when there is a task before us, a difficult or challenging situation, say like maybe a football game or a sports competition, or a difficult decision to make it’s much better to approach these with a positive mind set and make the best of it. The most successful football coach in Topeka, Kansas history encouraged his players to do just that. See the day as the finest. See it as an opportunity. Sometimes it was just to ready them for practice. Sometimes for regular-season contests. Sometimes for state championships. So players and coaches who were fortunate enough to play for Coach Ron Bowen are still armed with this attitude and mindset. Every day you can approach the challenge with a positive attitude, with determination, perseverance and rely on self-discipline to carry you through. And help make the day the finest one.
