Akhtar Sheerani
The Pashtun Sherani tribe, who travelled to India with Sultan Mahmood Ghaznawi and settled in Tonk, Rajasthan, is what Akhtar Shairani is descended from. Akhtar’s poetry, like that of Byron, Keats, and Shelley, is dominated by youth. He went by the name Shaair-e-Roomaan, or 'the Poet of romance'. Akhtaristan, Nigarshat-e-Akhtar, Lala-e-toor, Tayyur-e-Aawara, Naghma-e-Haram, Subh-e bahaar, and Shahnaz are some of his most well-known poetry books. He was known for setting trends in Urdu literature, especially with regard to poetry. This book ’Napoleon ki mehbooba’ contains selected short stories written by Akhtar Shairani.
