My Brother’s Keeper tells the story of two brothers, Daniel and TomKincaid, born ten years apart to affluent parents from Beaufort, NorthCarolina. Daniel becomes a successful and respected physician in hishometown community while Tom, spoiled, self-centered, and sexuallymanipulative becomes an alcoholic, sexual predator of women andyoung men.The story follows the lives of these two brothers soon after Daniel isreleased from prison for taking the blame for a crime that his brotherhad committed eight years before in order to protect his brother. Theyeventually meet by chance in a small town in rural North Carolinawhere Daniel had met and fallen in love with a young widow who has ateen-age daughter. However, Tom impacts their lives again when theyoung daughter is found murdered. The story follows the lives of thesetwo brothers to the ultimate conclusion of death and redemption.
