Louise, a widowed mother, finds herself in prison for perjury, after reporting her boyfriend’s drunken confession of murder to the police. The resulting investigation casts doubt on Louise’s version of events and she is subsequently branded a liar and imprisoned. After writing a book documenting her experience, a former police officer becomes involved and is unsettled enough by her story to look into the case once again and, in doing so, uncovers new, potentially damning evidence that could have a profound effect on all the main players. As the case becomes the subject of a retrial, who will the jury find guilty and who will be found innocent?
