A monografia colectiva apresenta o problema actual da purificação de gás natural de várias substâncias orgânicas e inorgânicas e a utilização de zeólitos ZSM-5 nas formas Li, Cs e Na como agente adsorvente e catalÃtico em processos de refinação de petróleo.A monografia descreve a estrutura da porosidade, o número de centros activos e a formação de complexos de compostos adsorvidos, a natureza dos zeólitos ZSM-5 nas formas Li, Cs e Na, estudados por meio de uma unidade de micro-calorimetria de adsorção de alto vácuo. São também apresentadas as isotérmicas de precisão e as caracterÃsticas termodinâmicas completas (∆H, ∆F e ∆S) de adsorção nos exemplos de amonÃaco, dióxido de carbono, água, metanol, n-pentano, benzeno e paraxileno na zeólita ZSM-5 nas formas Li, Cs e Na. O estudo das propriedades fÃsico-quÃmicas dos adsorventes permitirá a sÃntese de adsorventes de alto desempenho que substituam as importações a partir de matérias-primas locais.
