When she can’t afford to pay, she is forced to step out into a world that is difficult for her to navigate and has changed beyond recognition. Meanwhile, her ex-husband, Dean, top coder for Memex, is trying desperately to keep a lid on his memories being shared to the network as he works on a server upgrade, while her daughter, Angela, keeps experiencing memory flickers of her mother, which could tear her happy life and family apart.
