Der Martialmangel betrifft die Gruppen der Risikopopulationen (schwangere Frauen und Kleinkinder) sowohl in den entwickelten als auch in den Entwicklungsländern. In Algerien ist das Ausmaß des Problems nicht gut bekannt, da es nur wenige Studien gibt und die Bewertungsinstrumente, die biochemischen Indikatoren, unzuverlässig sind.Ziele - Bestimmung der Prävalenz von Martialmangel bei Kindern im Alter von null bis fünf Jahren in der Stadt Batna, Untersuchung der Auswirkungen auf die physische und psychomotorische Entwicklung des Kindes und Bewertung der angemessenen Behandlung und Präventionsmaßnahmen.Bei einer Stichprobe von 354 Kindern im Alter von null bis fünf Jahren in der Stadt Batna maßen wir Serumferritin, Hämoglobin und Transferrinrezeptoren, analysierten die klinischen Anzeichen eines Mangels und bewerteten das Wachstum und die psychomotorische Entwicklung der Kinder. Die Kinder mit Mangelerscheinungen erhielten eine Eisenbehandlung. Am Ende der martialischen Behandlung wurden Kontrollen durchgeführt.
