Imagine a world where there’s not enough food causing people to argue and fight for  their survival.Imagine if you had to move to another place hoping to find the food you need to survive. But what if in this new place, everyone looked different and acted different. What if they had different customs and habits and spoke a new language?Imagine how scary that might feel and what you might do. Imagine being afraid that other people would be just as afraid of you as you might be of them. What if you feared they would not welcome you because of your differences?What if you you risked everything and opened your heart and said hello to a stranger whether you were the person from another place or whether you lived in the same area your whole life and you happened to meet the stranger?Imagine if you had to move for different reasons but the stranger had an unexpected way to help you. What if all you needed to do was open your heart and say hello, with kindness and show them where they could find water and food? What if that gesture of friendship brought an unexpected solution to your own problem. This story reminds us that everyone makes a contribution to the community. Even though we all look and think different, we are the same. We need water and food and a place to sleep. We also need the kindness of community, because when we work together, it’s good for everyone.That’s what this book is about except the characters are possums and rabbits and the infestation of a warren by ticks. 3
