Il baobab è una delle principali specie legnose alimentari per le popolazioni saheliane. Questa specie è oggi minacciata di estinzione in diversi Paesi a causa delle azioni distruttive dell’uomo e della natura. Lo scopo di questo studio è quello di mostrare l’impatto delle azioni dell’uomo, da un lato, e della natura, dall’altro, sul baobab. Due (02) località sono state utilizzate come terreno di prova per rendere operativo questo studio. Si tratta di Kotaki e Banigoungou. Il metodo utilizzato sul campo è empirico. È stato utilizzato un questionario per intervistare 31 proprietari di baobab di età superiore ai 49 anni. È stata inoltre utilizzata una guida all’intervista semi-direttiva con 03 responsabili tecnici e 03 rappresentanti delle associazioni locali coinvolte. I dati raccolti evidenziano non solo le virtù ma anche le minacce che incombono sulle specie studiate a Kotaki e Banigoungou.
