López Obrador è diventato presidente nel 2018. Più di settant’anni di controllo egemonico dei partiti sono terminati il 1° luglio di quell’anno. Per i conservatori e l’estrema destra era un 'comunista', 'populista' o 'chavista'. Non c’è ancora accordo sulla caratterizzazione di questo governo.
