Este livro, como referência à Dissertação de Mestrado da Autora, teve como objetivo compreender as possibilidades de interação de sujeitos com Transtornos do Espectro do Autismo a partir dos processos de interpretação e significação das ações de adolescentes com TEA realizadas por seus interlocutores, em situações de relações sociais. A opção pelo referencial da teoria histórico-cultural de Lev S. Vigotski se deve à riqueza, das proposições desse autor, sobre o papel do outro nas relações sociais com vistas a contribuir para o desenvolvimento da linguagem e funções psíquicas superiores. A atribuição de sentidos às ações do sujeito favoreceu a entrada dos sujeitos no mundo simbólico, o que permitiu o descolamento do real e pode favorecer o desenvolvimento da imaginação e criação - funções mentais superiores que permitem a elaboração de novos conceitos. Este estudo proporcionou visualizar a importância do outro nas relações sociais, no desenvolvimento e nos processos de significação e interpretação dos pares, contribuindo para o desenvolvimento da linguagem, favorecendo a imaginação e criatividade dos atos comunicativos. 10
