Questo studio ha esplorato e descritto l’industria musicale nella Repubblica Ceca e in Slovacchia, soprattutto i nuovi modelli di business del settore e le strategie di marketing dei servizi di musica digitale. Gli obiettivi dello studio erano: 1) scoprire come l’industria musicale del territorio sta rispondendo all’era di Internet, 2) determinare gli attuali servizi di musica digitale disponibili sul territorio e 3) scoprire il successo degli attuali servizi di musica digitale e determinare quali sono i fattori che li rendono tali e quali potrebbero essere i cambiamenti in termini di strategie di marketing. Durante la ricerca sono stati identificati diversi servizi di musica digitale e anche l’assenza dei servizi di musica digitale di maggior successo. Purtroppo, nessuno dei servizi musicali nazionali è stato definito di successo e i risultati dei casi reali hanno mostrato una somiglianza con i risultati della letteratura esaminata dei primi anni 2000.
