The Gilcomston congregation in Aberdeen, Scotland, has existed since 1771. For most of that time in addition to its normal church services it has held a weekly meeting for prayer. For the last two decades or so each has started with brief reflections on a psalm by an elder. The author has been a member of the congregation for over sixty years and an elder since 1965. This volume is a compilation of the scripts of his contributions.
