Face aux problèmes des inondations récurrentes dans le district d’Abidjan, particulièrement dans le bassin versant du Gourou, suite aux pluies abondantes, nous avons essayé d’apporter une contribution aux solutions apportées qui sont restées jusque-là peu efficaces. Cela nous a conduit à nous interroger sur les facteurs déterminants de ces inondations récurrentes afin de proposer une solution stratégique. L’objectif de notre travail est d’étudier les déterminants dans la survenue des inondations récurrentes et la vulnérabilité des enjeux dans la perspective d’une gestion stratégique efficiente. Ceci nous a permis de décrire les effets des variabilités climatiques et d’analyser l’impact de la qualité des ouvrages de drainage et d’assainissement sur la récurrence et la sévérité des inondations. Pour y parvenir, nous avons utilisé la méthodologie mixte composée d’une recherche qualitative, évaluative et quantitative. Les résultats obtenus de la vérification des hypothèses montrent que les variabilités climatiques expliquent la récurrence des inondations, les facteurs entropiques et la qualité des ouvrages de drainage et d’assainissement justifient la récurrence des inondations.
