A l’aide de photos saisissantes et des descriptions méticuleuses, l’ouvrage Les Champignons Sauvages du Cameroun : Guide d’identification présente les différentes variétés de champignons sauvages comestibles et symbiotiques des forêts naturelles du Cameroun. Avec plus de 400 espèces en couleur et photographiées dans la nature, ce guide d’identification est certainement l’un des plus complets publié à ce jour, sur les macrochampignons d’Afrique. Il comprend plus d’une vingtaine d’espèces de champignons des termites (Termitomyces), plus de 80 espèces de champignons Saprotrophes et plus de 300 espèces de champignons Forestiers (Ectomycorhiziens), appartenant uniquement aux Caesalpiniceae et Phyllantaceae (Uapaca spp). Les champignons forestiers fructifient seulement dans les peuplements forestiers équiennes en forêt primaire de l’Est, Sud et Sud-Ouest Cameroun. Des tels peuplements forestiers équiennes méritent un statut spécial de conservation comme Sanctuaires de Biodiversité des associations ectomycorhiziennes afin de préserver les héritages bioculturels, les forêts vierges et de maintenir la stabilité du climat.
