The technological development of materials and techniques of asphalt paving works has provided the appearance of methods of dosage increasingly assertive. However, in Brazil we still apply a method developed in 1945, known as the empirical or popularly Marshall method. This leads to the need for more detailed analysis and the search for models that are closer to reality, but this is not always an easy task. However, what can be done is to have a more refined analysis of the parameters obtained by the current methodology, in addition to applying more updated tests, of the mechanistic type, to obtain parameters that better reflect the sidewalk performance.
