La normalidad filosófica reúne los ensayos sobre filosofía chilena e Hispanoamericana redactados por el autor durante cuatro décadas de investigación. Ellos muestran los vínculos de la disciplina en Chile con el quehacer filosófico tanto en el hemisferio como en otras partes del mundo. Estos ensayos sugieren que es posible comprender el desarrollo de la filosofía mediante la distinción “profesionalismo y crítica”, la cual explica el énfasis de los filósofos en diferentes escuelas y subdisciplinas. Se examina además el impacto de la intervención militar en las universidades chilenas. La obra culmina con una reflexión sobre el aporte de Jorge J.E. Gracia a la filosofía sobre raza, etnicidad y nacionalidad. 10
