BARRY JOHN COHEN
An autobiography concerning my journey through life and all the famous people from sporting and music icons to Presidents, Ministers, and leading business personalities, and my impressions and adventures. At the same time the life lessons I had to learn navigating South Africa’s transformation, and the duplicity of friendships. The story travels from growing up in an idyllic seaside resort, Muizenberg, in Cape Town, university legal studies to resisting the apartheid police. Working in the famous Chelsea Records in Wellington and Sydney and then co-developing a Queensland franchise video chain. Back to Cape Town launching the lottery scratch card nationally and in Botswana, followed by fantasy interactive games with SuperSport and Sky TV (NZ) television. Touring with the Springbok rugby team and transforming the National Cancer Association. Thereafter, launching the Southern Africa Golf Hall of Fame, followed by Covid-19 and becoming an Author. The story concludes with my thoughts on various subjects such as lessons learned.A scratch handicap golfer I received the 2012 award for ’The Greatest Contribution to South African Golf’, amongst several awards. I enjoy partaking and watching sports, oil painting, creative writing, spending time with friends, and bringing up my children Rory (23) and Jenna (25)
