The author’s poems overflow with faith-filled messages about how we can live a good life. They encourage us as we read the book to get down on our knees in prayer daily and then listen for God’s answers. Their verses remind us to tell others about our faith in God every chance we get because every time we share our faith, the stronger that faith will become. The author recognizes often that the road leading to heaven is not an easy path but that we must take it to reach our heavenly home. His poems also galvanize us to serve others every chance we get, to act now and not wait for tomorrow, and to see others as our sisters and brothers. As the author wrote, 'All we have to do is believe in God, have faith, and share that faith with others so they too can come to Him.' The more of these poems we read, the more we will want to read. And then we will want to act. 3

‘There’s a touch of both Dickinson and Larkin in Jennifer Chrystie’s mature exhumation of the tales and tropes of family. Figures who could so easily flit like phantoms in her well honed poetry are palpably enjoying an after-life in the poet’s ability to redeem through deep understanding. The collection arcs from, at one extreme, the parsimonies of the household, to the transce...

The very title of Edward V. Bonner's first volume of poetry, One Kiss (Ingram, 2015), suggests some ways in which the poems inside balance the universal with the particular.
