The aim of the book is to make clear generally overlooked facts about the harmful and often long-lasting impact of sexual violation on boys and men and dispel the myths that often accompany perceptions of male survivors. Written by trauma experts and survivors alike, it includes guides for recovery through proven strategies for coping with the impact of traumatic experiences. It includes instructional videos that teach methods to settle in the body and mind to support clearer and more useful decisions in everyday life. H.O.M.E. inspires hope for healing through videos of men talking about their journey of recovery, and includes original songs written and performed by fellow survivors. It also provides information and insight into one’s rights through the Prison Rape Elimination Act when sexual violence occurs behind bars.
