In diesem Buch untersuchen wir die potenziellen Anwendungen von funktionalisierten Folsäure-Polymer-Nanopartikeln für die Verabreichung von Genen und Medikamenten. Folsäure-Chitosan (Kohlenhydrate) und Folsäure-PAMAM (Dendrimere) unterschiedlicher Größe wurden verwendet, um DNA, RNA und Arzneimittel in vitro zu transportieren. Die thermodynamische Analyse zeigte, dass die Konjugation von DNA, RNA und Arzneimitteln mit den Nanopartikeln über hydrophile, hydrophobe, H-Bindungen und van-der-Waals-Kontakte erfolgte. Größere Veränderungen der DNA- und RNA-Morphologie traten durch die Wechselwirkung mit dem Nanoträger auf, während die Arzneimittel morphologische Veränderungen des Polymers hervorriefen. Funktionalisierte Folsäure-Nanopartikel können DNA, RNA und Arzneimittel zu den Zielmolekülen transportieren.
