'Functions of Mathematics for the Liberal Arts' is designed to showcase the utility and beauty of mathematics for the college student majoring in the humanities or liberal arts. It uses a slow pace and informal style to explore not only its many uses but also its rich history as part of the human experience. The development of mathematics is showcased within a larger cultural context and explained as the evolution both as a true art from as well as a universal language for solving problems to improve society.
