A day outing had been Gram and Lily’s idea, a diversion to bring them together, a bonding of sorts, and it had seemed extremely important—vital, in fact—at the planning stage, although Chime couldn’t quite remember why. Gram knew that this morning he was logical and reasonable, and in control. And now . . . now he feels like he’s losing himself. Lily didn’t want to admit a brush with the same sensation. She shrugged his hand away. “Don’t you find it odd that none of us can remember where we were supposed to go next? On a day that we planned months ago?”
