Fate of Local vs. Systemic Antibiotics with PRF in Third Molar Healing explores the impact of different antibiotic delivery methods on postoperative recovery in impacted mandibular third molar surgery. This randomized clinical study, conducted at PDM Dental College and Research Institute, compares two treatment protocols: local antibiotic application combined with Platelet-Rich Fibrin (PRF) versus systemic oral antibiotics. The study evaluates key postoperative outcomes, including swelling, trismus, pain scores, and analgesic use, in 50 healthy individuals. By utilizing standard surgical protocols, local anesthesia (2% Lignocaine with adrenaline), and PRF centrifugation, the research aims to determine the most effective strategy for enhancing healing and minimizing complications. Ethical guidelines were strictly followed, ensuring informed consent and institutional approval. This study provides valuable clinical insights for oral and maxillofacial surgeons, helping optimize patient care in third molar surgery.
