Currently, a lot of efforts have been undertaken to get active compounds and to isolate specific components from plant species in order to know their therapeutic effects. As per the literature it came into notice that numerous plants have been extensively opted to treat ailments and diseases in folk medicine and studies also revealed that these medicinal plants are also being used in the developed countries to counter several diseases. Plants are the source of numerous bioactive substances. These bioactive substances are very useful for human health. Medicinal plants are a rich source of antioxidants. They are helpful in reducing oxidative stress. Keeping in the view of oxidative stress, we have undergone an experiment to determine the antioxidant activity of B. monosperma and T. cordifolia. The antioxidant activity was measured by the DPPH test and the FRAP test. Both the extracts showed a remarkable anti-oxidant effect. This dissertation work covers the biochemical and biological properties of B. monosperma and T. cordifolia. These plants have been used for the treatment of various disorders. To confirm their efficacy and potency both biochemical and biological tests were carried out
