Es un libro de estampas o de “sentencias y donaires” que diría nuestro admirado, y tan actual, Juan de Mairena. Como si el autor quisiera revivir aquella soñada Escuela de Sabiduría Popular del maestro Abel Martín, otro apócrifo de Antonio Machado con el que despliega una tan sutil como necesaria pedagogía. No es que el libro de Ruano, también él profesor, pretenda ser tratado alguno sobre la educación o las buenas costumbres, pero sí que contiene una sabrosa y sabia visión sobre los comportamientos más adecuados. 10
