Um möglichst viele Informationen über die therapeutische Verwendung von Heilpflanzen zur Behandlung von gynäkologischen Erkrankungen bei Frauen zu erhalten, führten wir eine deskriptive ethnobotanische Feldstudie durch, bei der wir Frauen während ihrer Konsultationen bei Gynäkologen in der Gemeinde Guelma befragten. Die Studie ergab 18 Pflanzen aus 12 botanischen Familien, von denen die am häufigsten verwendeten Salbei und Majoran vor allem zur Behandlung von Schwangerschaftsbeschwerden und Lavendel zur Behandlung von Vaginalinfektionen eingesetzt werden. Diese Arten haben sich als sehr wirksam erwiesen, jede in ihrem jeweiligen Anwendungsbereich.
