Ziel dieser Studie war es, zu untersuchen, wie medizinisches Fachpersonal Aromatherapie bei Kindern und Jugendlichen einsetzt, die die vier häufigsten psychischen Erkrankungen aufweisen oder damit diagnostiziert wurden. Die vier häufigsten psychischen Erkrankungen laut dem Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) (2013) sind: ADHS als häufigste psychische Störung, gefolgt von Verhaltensstörungen, Angstzuständen und Depressionen (Teil der affektiven Störungen). Diese qualitative Forschungsstudie verwendete ein exploratives Design, indem vier Probanden ausführliche, halbstrukturierte, offene Fragen gestellt wurden.
