A coagulação e floculação são a base do tratamento da água, para a separação de misturas sólido-líquido, bem como um meio de reduzir a turbidez. Na presente investigação, foi avaliado o efeito da velocidade aplicada e da dose de sulfato de alumínio Al2 (SO4)3, bem como o efeito do cloreto férrico FeCl3-floculante. Para obter os dados experimentais, foi utilizado um equipamento 'Jar Test', realizando testes a 06 níveis de dose aplicada (1, 2, 3, 4, 5 e 6 mL), e a 05 níveis de velocidade de agitação (100, 150, 200, 250 e 300 r.p.m.). Os resultados indicam que as melhores condições, com sulfato de alumínio, foram alcançadas com uma dose de 120 mg/L e a uma velocidade de 100 r.p.m. de mistura rápida e 25 r.p.m. de mistura lenta, diminuindo a cor inicial de 213 UPC para 10 UPC, uma turbidez inicial de 66,6 para 1,1 UNT, uma concentração inicial de Fe (II) de 1,37 para 0,05 mg/L e uma diminuição do pH de 6,6 para 4,20.
