Depuis 2017, l’État du Cameroun a entrepris un certain nombre de réformes relatives notamment à l’introduction des arts au Secondaire, suivant deux orientations : premièrement ce qu’il convient de nommer la formation artistique (le nouveau Baccalauréat cinématographique en étant une illustration) ; deuxièmement, ce que l’on désigne de plus en plus par le concept d’éducation artistique. L’Enseignement supérieur vient d’emboîter le pas au Secondaire, avec la création du premier Département d’Éducation artistique dans une École Normale Supérieure (ENS). Il importe d’étudier les conditions scientifiques de la généralisation d’une telle innovation. À travers le paradigme de l’évaluation des politiques publiques en général et de celles éducatives ou sectorielles en particulier, le livre est à la fois une lecture critique, un écrit de prospective et une leçon en guise d’application concernant la didactique des disciplines artistiques.
