Das Ziel dieser Untersuchung ist die Analyse der Aufgaben, die im Mathematiklehrbuch der 8. Klasse für den Unterricht von zwei linearen Gleichungssystemen mit zwei Unbekannten vorgeschlagen werden, im Lichte der Theorie der semiotischen Darstellungsregister von Duval (2003). Es handelt sich um eine qualitative, dokumentarische Studie. Aus der von uns durchgeführten Analyse geht hervor, dass die vorgeschlagenen Aufgaben eine Vielzahl von Registern aufweisen, wie z. B. algebraische, natürlichsprachliche und grafische. Aufgaben, die sich auf Behandlungen beziehen (64 %), werden auch gegenüber Umrechnungen (36 %) bevorzugt, bei denen nur eine Koordination in eine Richtung stattfindet. Wir können also feststellen, dass die Schüler alles mechanisch und auswendig lernen, weil die vorgeschlagenen Aufgaben dies nahelegen. Unserer Meinung nach könnte dies einer der Faktoren sein, die zu den schlechten Lernleistungen der Schüler in Mathematik beitragen. Nach der untersuchten Theorie können wir schlussfolgern, dass die in den Schulbüchern vorgeschlagenen Aufgaben es den Schülern erleichtern sollten, die Register zu koordinieren; diese Koordinierungen sollten in beide Richtungen erfolgen. Wir schlagen jedoch vor, mehr Aufgaben vorzuschlagen, die sich auf Umrechnungen im Verhältnis zu Behandlungen beziehen oder ein Gleichgewicht herstellen.
