Manden Yadar arbejder blandt andet som drømmeledsager i landet Alt, hvilket er det oprindelige navn for Atlantis. Som drømmeledsager forbereder og assisterer han mennesker fra dette liv med at nå sikkert frem til ”den anden side” efter døden. Yadar får nogle oplevelser i drømme og under meditation, der overbeviser ham om, at han har levet tidligere. Til hans store overraskelse opdager han, at han også får mulighed for at opleve glimt af hændelser i mulige, fremtidigt liv. Ikke nok med det, så oplever han flere liv på andre planeter, og det bliver sværere for ham at holde styr på hvem han er. Han får dog hjælp af venner i hans ydre verden. Samtidig er der også hjælp at hente hos hans andre jeger som han møder. Forfatteren bruger egne oplevelser fra andre liv som grundlag for handling.
