Doug the Tug Gets a New Captain is the second book in a new series that is fun and educational. Kids and adults will learn new vocabulary words from the nautical vocabulary in the front of the book with some of them being used in the book. Who do you think of when you hear about a Captain of a boat? You may be surprised of how many women are Captains of boats and ships now. Kids will learn that just because a job is a dominated by a certain gender that it does not mean another gender cannot do it and do it better. Doug the Tug is a series that follows the towboat 'Doug the Tug' as he works in the harbor making friends as he teaches and is taught life lessons.
