Pain is a complex medical problem and universal physical affiliation of mankind. Pain in the orofacial region is a common affliction, affectingbetween 10 and 50% of the population. The diverse potential for pain arising from trigeminal receptive fields is why evaluation and management of orofacial pain require collaboration among all fields of medicine.
