Even though it is a Ganasutra and not a Dhatusutra, still the Siddhanta Kaumudi has given it a Dhatu Number !1082 hnuṅ apanayane-----1617 vraja mārgasaṃskāragatyoḥ1618 mārga saṃskāragatyoḥ । In Siddhanta Kaumudi this is listed as a separate Root. However in standard Dhatupathas, including Madhaviya Dhatuvritti it is not distinct. Already a distinct Root 1846 mārga anveṣaṇe is present in Dhatupatha.
