Já foram realizados muitos trabalhos sobre a orientação de medicamentos como nanopartículas para o tratamento do cancro. Mas, com este trabalho, estou a antecipar o futuro âmbito dos nanomedicamentos para a terapia do cancro, seguido da sua orientação para o sistema linfático. O mesilato de imatinib é um fármaco que seleccionei para este estudo e o resultado mostrou que este tipo de terapia é muito eficaz para o linfoma. O SLN pode passar facilmente através do sistema linfático durante a circulação sistémica, e este direcionamento passivo permite que o fármaco seja direcionado para o sistema linfático.
