A diabetes é uma das principais causas de morbidade e mortalidade. É, portanto, uma doença dispendiosa para o paciente, as famílias e a sociedade. O objetivo é estudar os aspectos epidemiológicos, relatar os fatores na origem da descompensação e as modalidades evolutivas a fim de melhorar os cuidados em Mbujimayi (RDC). A frequência da cetoacidose diabética foi de 25.5℅ de casos no departamento de Medicina Interna. Para todos os nossos pacientes, a cetoacidose predomina em indivíduos com menos de 40 anos de idade. A cetoacidose ocorre em qualquer paciente diabético, a média de idade dos nossos pacientes foi de 42,3 anos mais ou menos 3,6 anos com a faixa etária alvo entre 56-70 anos, o sexo masculino estava mais preocupado com 54,4℅ contra 45, 6℅ para o sexo feminino, cuja clínica é superponível à descrita pela literatura. As infecções ocupam o primeiro lugar como fator desencadeante em nosso estudo com 64.6℅ e seguido pela descontinuação do tratamento 13.9℅. A evolução é marcada por uma mortalidade de 25 casos ou 31.64℅.
