Uno dei problemi attuali del sistema internazionale che si è forgiato fin dall’antichità è il cyberterrorismo, inteso come il metodo con cui si instilla la paura sia nella popolazione civile che nelle istituzioni statali e nelle forze pubbliche. Negli ultimi anni, il modus operandi di gruppi armati come lo Stato Islamico si è trasformato grazie ai nuovi strumenti che la globalizzazione ha portato nell’ambiente, come la tecnologia e i media, trasformandoli in canali facilitanti per la diffusione del terrore, minacciando la tranquillità del mondo e rivelando nuovi scenari che forse la società internazionale non è preparata a combattere. Il fatto sostanziale di questo progetto è individuare in modo sintetico come gli Stati Uniti hanno risposto alle azioni terroristiche, nello specifico quelle del gruppo Stato Islamico diffuse attraverso i diversi media e social network, che generano scenari di cyberguerra su scala globale dove le misure attuate da questo governo incidono direttamente sulla sicurezza dello Stato e sulla rilevanza ed evoluzione del gruppo terroristico a livello globale.
